Everything you ever wanted to know about the housing development process can be learned in this two-day workshop.
This two-day workshop is typically held each spring and is designed to enlighten participants about the art and science of affordable housing development. Through role-playing, participants will attempt to solve the housing challenge facing a typical Colorado community. Hands-on exercises will provide a working knowledge of the critical steps necessary to develop an affordable rental housing community.

In this workshop, you will work with your peers on three in-depth project case studies, including rental acquisition, rural rental preservation, and new rental development. Learn about financing options, maximizing affordability, and project phasing. This class is designed for housing developers who want to use more complex financing sources. Participants must have a high level of comfort with Microsoft Excel and with the basic principles of real estate finance.
