The Colorado Department of Local Affairs (DOLA), through its Division of Housing (DOH), announced the approval of over $46.5 million in funding from the State Housing Board (SHB) to create 716 housing opportunities across Colorado. These 18 investments expand housing access through new rental developments, homeownership opportunities, and down payment assistance programs—advancing the State’s vision of housing for all Coloradans.

The Colorado Department of Local Affairs is pleased to report a high rate of compliance and compliance in progress among subject jurisdictions with various laws related to strategic growth, in many cases well ahead of the statutory deadline. As required by Governor Polis’ May 16, 2025 Executive Order (EO) Regarding Strategic Growth through Compliance with State Laws (D 2025 005), DOLA made an initial determination of the compliance status of local governments subject to seven laws included in the 2024 and 2025 strategic growth legislation.

The Colorado Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) is excited to announce that Tyler Jaeckel will serve as the new Director of the Division of Housing, starting October 7, 2025. Jaeckel joins DOLA with more than two decades of extensive experience in housing policy, development, and program implementation across local, state, and federal levels.

The Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) has expanded its Colorado Emergency Rental Assistance program by offering two ways to apply: the Division of Housing (DOH) Monthly Random Selection and the CARE Center Daily Random Selection. The CARE Center Daily Random Selection will begin on March 17, 2025, while the next DOH Monthly Random Selection pre-application window will be open from April 14-16, 2025.
