Department of Local Affairs’ Executive Director Maria De Cambra Announces the New Communications Director/Public Information Officer

Today, Executive Director Maria De Cambra announced an update to her leadership team. Director De Cambra is pleased to welcome Shannon Gray as the Communications Director/Public Information Officer within the Department of Local Affairs (DOLA).

“We are thrilled to welcome Shannon as the new Communications Director at the Department of Local Affairs,” said Maria De Cambra, Executive Director of the Department of Local Affairs (DOLA). “DOLA has ambitious priorities to strengthen Colorado communities, ensure that every Coloradan has a safe place to call home and increase resiliency, and telling the stories from our communities will be integral to our success. Shannon's expertise and dedication will undoubtedly enhance our efforts to inform and engage with Coloradans, fostering stronger connections and better service for our communities.”

Shannon joins the Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) after a seven-year tenure at the Colorado Department of Revenue (DOR), where she served as Communications Supervisor. In this role, she oversaw external communication for the Colorado Lottery, the Marijuana Enforcement Division, the nascent Natural Medicine Division, and the Specialized Business Group (Auto Industry, Gaming/Sports Betting, Liquor/Tobacco, Racing). Before her impactful work at the Department of Revenue (DOR), Shannon lent her expertise to the University of Denver, holding several positions including roles with the Center for Professional Development, University Advancement, the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, and as a temporary adjunct faculty member at the Department of Film, Journalism, and Media Studies, where she received her graduate degree. With a strong track record of excellence and dedication, Shannon has consistently demonstrated her commitment to serving all Coloradans.
