The Division of Housing, working with Brothers Redevelopment, provided the Housing Counseling Assistance Program for general housing counseling.

It is a free service to all Coloradans where residents can:

  • Be connected to local housing resources like financial assistance for rent and mortgages.
  • Be put in touch with legal assistance to prevent a looming eviction.

Homeownership Counseling Through the Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program

Housing counselors can help you apply for the Colorado Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program and provide advice on buying a home, renting, defaults, forbearances, foreclosures, and credit issues.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development provides a list of nationwide HUD-approved counseling agencies.

You do not have to apply or be eligible for the Colorado Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program to receive housing counseling.
